Ghouls at Grassmere

Our big family outing during our Nashville trip was to Ghouls at Grassmere.  This is the big Halloween event for the Nashville Zoo.  Normally, we attend Greenville Zoo's Boo in the Zoo, but we were not home to do so.  Therefore, we packed Halloween costumes and went to the Ghoulish event.

The children were excited.  We had visited the zoo a few days before to purchase our tickets for the big night. As we enjoyed strolling through the zoo in the day time hours, the children were able to see the preparations for Ghouls event.

Clouded leopard exhibit during the day.
When the big night arrived, they couldn't wait to let hubby see the zoo.  He has never been to the Nashville Zoo and Little Man was eager to show his dad the meerkats.

Ready to get the party started!

We were pleasantly surprised at how well organized the event was.  The zoo was sectioned off into many activities and although there were hundreds or thousands of people in attendance, it didn't feel overly crowded.

We visited Trick or Treat stations, the Monster Lab, and watched a funny magic show Ali Kazaam.

Next, we headed up the hill to the game area.  Everyone received a treat at each game.  All the children in attendance were having a blast.

We saw many amazing costumes during our visit.

One of many cool costumes we saw!
The children tired soon after the games and we didn't make it to the hayride or scare-o-cell ride.  Overall, we had a wonderful time.  If we are ever back in town during another Ghouls at Grassmere event, we will definitely attend.
