Measuring, Compass, and Map Skills

It was a lovely day for our nature walk with friends.  Bright, sunshine, and a nice breeze set the stage for a fun learning experience.  Our topic today was measuring, compass usage, and map skills.  The students did an awesome job working in teams and completing their tasks.

After the task, we hiked two miles along a service road that runs the perimeter of Holston Creek Park.  We stumbled upon turkey tracks and possibly coyote tracks in the mud.  The coyotes were definitely chasing the turkeys at some point.

We love this hike because it has gradual elevation changes and pretty scenery.  You just have to keep an eye out for any discs from the disc golf course.
