2014 Christmas Fun Day 2!

Day two of Advent kicked off to find Tinsel asleep on the piano.  He was evidently tired from climbing his yarn rope to display day one's Advent activities and the trip back to the North Pole.

He left the children with another Prophecy card and a paper ornament to color with another piece of the Nativity story.

The big surprise for the day was the instructions to see Dickens of a Christmas.  We have never been before.  So, we invited friends to join us and waited for the evening to arrive.  The excitement built all day.

We arrived early for the event.  It was fun to walk along Main Street and browse.  We made our way to the ice skating rink and purchased our tickets.  The kids couldn't wait to skate.

After skating, we went and saw a friend playing his guitar in one of the performances.  The musicians did a nice job playing various Christmas tunes.

We made our way back up Main Street and saw a few performances here and there.  The crowds made it hard to really see anything.  I was really hoping for more street performers, but we still had a nice time.

We walked on down to the tree lighting ceremony.  The Spartanburg Community Band played Christmas carols as the crowd waited.  Finally, the moment arrived and the tree was set aglow in festive colors.

A fun night with friends and a new experience.  I wonder what tomorrow will bring....
